Chumash Casino Resort has been working closely with local, state and federal health officials to ensure the safety of our guests and employees. Upon reopening you may notice some changes around the property. Our primary focus for reopening has been implementing measures to help keep our guests and employees safe and well during the COVID-19 crisis. This is including, but not limited to, increased cleaning and disinfection, personal protective equipment (PPE), physical barriers and social distancing.

TEMPERATURE KIOSKS Everyone is required to have their temperature checked before entering the building. A Safe + Well sticker will be issued and must be worn at all times.


KEEP THE SPACE Please use social distancing practices. Signage and floor markers have been placed around property to help reinforce these standards.


PHYSICAL BARRIERS Plexiglass barriers have been installed around the property. They are in place for your protection, where social distancing could be difficult to maintain.


CONVENIENTLY CLEAN We have increased the number of hand sanitizing stations available throughout the property for easy and frequent use.


APPROVED FACE COVERINGS Approved face coverings are required. Removal of face covering is only permitted when seated where a physical barrier is present.


CLEANING PROTOCOLS We have increased our cleaning frequency for all areas of the resort. Casino gaming space, hotel and all other areas will undergo frequent cleaning.

  • Refrain from using shared workspaces and surfaces (phones, computers, kiosks) when possible. 
  • Please stay home if you are demonstrating any cold symptoms, have a fever or feel unwell.
  • Participate in regular cleaning & disinfecting exercises for your assigned work area. We all have a role to play in keeping each other healthy.


The health and safety of our customers and employees is our first priority. Here is what we are doing to help keep you Safe + Well. 

Temperature Kiosks at Entry - Temperature checking, touchless kiosks will be located at our entrances. The kiosks will screen customers and employees entering the facility to ensure they are not running a temperature. Wellness stickers will be provided that allow you entry, once your temperature is confirmed to be within a normal range. 

Creating Physical Distancing - To keep everyone safe, we are implementing physical distancing measures in all public gathering spaces for employees and customers.
  • Slot Machines - Slot machines will be configured to allow for physical separation. Managers and Supervisors will remind guests not to gather around slots. 
  • Table Games - Table games will have chairs and table positioned to allow more space for guests during play. Managers and supervisors will remind guests not to gather in groups. 
  • Hotel Front Desk, Cage and Player Services - We plan to utilize every other workstation, when possible, to provide adequate space when servicing guests’ needs.
  • Food and Beverage Outlets - Restaurants and bars will be offered at a reduced capacity to provide appropriate space for our guests. Services will be limited, but we will open additional outlet services as soon as it’s safe to do so.
  • Line Queuing - We will provide signage and markers for line queuing to help ensure physical distancing guidelines are met. This includes the hotel lobby, transportation services, cashier cage, player services, food and beverage outlets, retail outlets, and employee services.
  • Employee Areas - Physical distancing measures will be used in employee areas and reinforced with signage and line queuing. 

Providing Physical Barriers - Physical barriers will be provided in areas where social distancing standards may be difficult to meet. This includes protective glass, clear plastic barriers, or line queue markers in key spaces throughout the property where people gather.

Cleaning Public Spaces - We have increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing, with a focus on all public and employee areas, including, but not limited to, slot machines, table games, countertops, tables, front desk check-in counter, escalators and elevators, handrails, door handles, bathrooms, ATMs, kiosks, casino cage, dining and retail surfaces, and general seating areas. 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - We are requiring all guests wear approved face coverings. Face coverings with ventilators or valves are no longer permitted. 

Hand Sanitizer - Hand sanitizer dispensers will be placed throughout the resort for customer and team member use. Sanitizing stations can be found at entrances, reception areas, hotel lobby, the casino floor, restaurant entrances, elevator landings, and other common areas.

Hand Washing - Signage will be placed in all restrooms and wash facilities serving as a reminder to use soap, and wash hands for at least 20 seconds. 

Guest Rooms Standards - Industry leading cleaning and sanitizing protocols will be used to clean guest rooms, with particular attention paid to high-touch areas including television remote controls, restroom area, door handles, furniture handles, water faucet handles, nightstands, telephones, in-room control panels, light switches, and temperature control panels. 

Room Recovery Protocol - In the event of presumptive case of COVID-19, the hotel room will be removed from service and quarantined. The hotel room will not be returned to service until the room has been cleaned, sanitized and appropriately cleared. 

Laundry Standards - All bed linen and laundry will be changed daily and continue to be washed at a high temperature and in accordance with CDC guidelines. Dirty linen will be bagged in the guest room to eliminate excess contact while being transported to the laundry facility. 

Back of House Standards - The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing will also increase in high-traffic back-of-house areas, with an emphasis on the employee dining room, employee entrances, uniform control room, employee restrooms, loading docks, offices, kitchens, time clock stations, podiums and training classrooms.

COVID-19 Training - All employees will receive training on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols with more comprehensive training for our team members.

Helping Reduce Contact - We are asking our employees to find ways to reduce group contact through the use of virtual meetings and remote working environments, when appropriate and possible. Pre-shift meetings should be done in a way that takes physical distancing into account. 

Shared Equipment - Shared tools and equipment will be sanitized before, during and after each shift or anytime the equipment is transferred to a new employee. This includes computers, phones, radios, and other communication devices, payment terminals, kitchen implements, engineering tools, keys, time clocks and all other direct contact items used throughout the resort. 

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures for our Team Members and Guests. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting Chumash Casino Resort. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
